Thongs and Celeb Endorsement, Does it Really Push Sales?

With the lingerie market full of a huge range of lingerie brands ranging from cheap and inexpensive to designer and catwalk designer, the aggressive fight for market share is actually now growing harder. Stockings are a definite must, make life sexier this Winter and shop for them online.

The womens underwear market including thongs and hosiery is worth over 2 billion pounds within the UK. With such a commercial market the number of underwear brands who are using celebrity endorsements have increased. The most recent celebrities to put their face and bodies to womens underwear brands include Melanie B from pop group the Spice Girls, Katie Price and footballer wife Louise Redknapp.

Melanie B signed a contract with the well known brand Ultimo for a hefty half a million pounds. The Spice Girl Mel B has been doing many ab workouts to show off her chiselled six pack in the press photographs for the new range of ultimo knickers. She follows in other well known celebrity footsteps. Another famous pop star that modeled for an underwear company is the beautiful Louise RedKnapp, she modeled for Triumph. The boost in lingerie sales for the womens underwear brands using celebs to endorse their bras and knickers have worked.

A celebrity endorsement will work well when the company teams itself up with a well known person who has the same beliefs and values and is a good match to the product and the womens lingerie brands target audience.
