Ever taken note of how the myriad of major advances in computer software have completely redesigned hospitality and air travel in the past decade or so? The driving force behind this is New Jersey’s favorite son Nicholas Bredimus. His career highlights include effort-saving computer programs, airplane safety developments, and even the design of luxury houses.

His lineage tells you everything you might need to know regarding his skills and the tremendous amount he has achieved. Traceable as far back as the glory days of Rome, Bredimus’ ancestry connects to many parts of Europe. From his mother’s side, say, he can boast Scottish and German bloodlines. The paternal line, by contrast, originates in England and Luxembourg, from where his forebears ultimately came to the United States in the late nineteenth century. That passionate zeal prevailed on arrival. Nicholas, as well as his two brothers and four sisters, was born to a father who made his living as a mechanical design engineer and his wife, a practicing nurse. His residences over the course of several years ranged across four states. Nicholas has worked in prominent jobs within firms across the airline industry — most of them huge brands. Nicholas ascended to the position of VP with airlines like Hughes Airwest, Republic Airlines, and Trans World Airlines (TWA) respectively. Most notable, though, was his work as an inventive software designer for the airlines.

He is certainly most renowned for the aircraft maintenance system he designed for US Airways, which eventually evolved into the “old reliable” for the task. He created many other pieces of software for the airline and hotel sector in addition, among them robotic software to take and record airline reservations, used by more than 50 firms, not to mention his innovative desktop computer based room booking system for the hotel sector, the rollout for which took place at over seven hundred locations. He went on to produce QuikTix, an automatic ticket ordering network. Though this was eminently his strong suit, Mr Bredimus has frequently worked in non-software areas. Responsible titles with American Airlines and American Express followed, and in the biggest move of all he established his own firm in the early 1990s.

Today he has withdrawn from Northwest Airlines and the software development industry, but he’s still making the most of his skills. He’s at work now at the forefront of architecture — balancing the needs of luxury with bona fide environmental concern.
